Sludge Treatment Facilities

All activated sludge technologies do produce so called excess sludge during the purification process. Excess sludge is no longer needed in the purification process; we therefore have developed different options to further process or to discharge excess sludge.

In most cases we recommend our customers to include some kind of sludge processing integrated into their wastewater treatment plant. Properly treated excess sludge contains much less water and because of that less volume and weight. Dried sludge is hazard free and much easier to handle than wet sludge. Very often dried sludge is used as fertilizer.
